Fourth of July at Tenaya Park

For more than 40 years, the Tenaya Park neighborhood has sponsored traditional Fourth of July festivities.  Everyone is welcome to attend this fun, family-oriented celebration.  Many of the activities and events are free of charge.  We hope you’ll join us this year!

Preliminary Schedule of Activities

Noon              Waterslides, volleyball, basketball – FREE!

3:00 p.m.        Snow cones, face painting - 25¢ each

                        On-site sale of tickets for meals, beverages, and activities

5:00 p.m.        Gospelaires is an outstanding live bluegrass band; bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy the concert - FREE!

6:00 p.m.        BBQ tri tip dinner and neighborhood potluck

Ÿ   $10/person for a tri-tip dinner with beans, salad, garlic bread, and beverage
plus the neighborhood potluck

Ÿ   $5/person for hot dog, chips, and beverage

Paper plates, napkins, and plastic ware provided.  For the potluck, please bring your favorite hors d’oeuvres or side dishes.   To get tickets in advance, call Joan Conway at 355-8308. 

7:15 p.m.        Children’s patriotic parade – decorate your children’s strollers, wagons, and bikes and parade around the Park.  There are prizes for the kids!  FREE!
7:30 p.m.        Cake walk – enjoy a traditional cake walk and win delicious homemade cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and other desserts - 25¢ per entry
Dark                Fireworks (under the direction of Dan Dodson).  Last year’s show went on for more than 3 hours.  FREE!

Fresno City firefighters and a Fresno County Sherriff have been invited in the hopes that kids can see a patrol car and fire truck.

All proceeds from this event are used to maintain the Park. 
Free parking in any of the cul-de-sacs that lead to Tenaya Park.  There may not be any public restrooms at this event.
