April 13 yard/bake sale raised almost $2,000 for the Park!

A huge “THANK YOU” to all the neighbors who donated yard sale items, books, and baked goods for the April 13 yard/bake sale.  We raised almost $2,000 at this event!  With a little more fundraising and possibly some help from Fresno County, we might actually be able to replace the children’s playground surface in the foreseeable future!

Special thanks to all the volunteers who made this event a success:  Cathy Davis, Jan Drenth, Paul Heath, Rosa Gonzalez, Carla and Vern Grant, Anne Lucido, Kathy McDonnell, the Papulius family, Jeri Thuesen, and Gabriel Wiest.  We couldn’t have done it without your help!

During the yard/bake sale, someone called the police because cars weren’t parking parallel in the Tenaya cul-de-sac near the basketball court.  Fortunately, the police gave people a chance to move their cars and no one was cited.  With future events like the Fourth of July and September bluegrass concerts, we will try to publicize the unique parallel parking requirement for this cul-de-sac.  Perhaps that will help minimize the inconvenience that events can cause to neighbors who live near the Park on this cul-de-sac.
