The Tenaya Estates, Inc., Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the basketball court at the Park.  The election of Board members is the only business that members will be asked to vote on.  The Treasurer will provide a report on Park finances and the President will provide an update on Park operations.

2012 Elections Process

There are 143 homeowners in the Tenaya Estates homeowners association.  According to the Bylaws, 20% of the members attending in person constitutes a quorum for purposes of transacting business.  At the annual meeting, the homeowners elect the Directors who serve 2-year terms.  There are 9 Directors on the Board.  Board members are volunteers who receive no compensation for their service.

The 2012 election will occur at the annual meeting.  At the annual meeting on April 14, the President will call for nominations from the floor.  The vote will be held immediately following the close of nominations.  This will give everyone a greater opportunity to get involved.

Voting will be by written ballot.  Each property is entitled to one ballot.  The single voting representative for each property will be required to sign the roster and will then be given a ballot.  The ballot will contain the names of known candidates and several lines for write-in candidates.  Since there are more than 9 candidates, the 8 candidates with the highest number of votes will win provided, however, that each candidate must receive 50% plus one vote to be elected.  If candidates do not obtain the necessary majority vote and/or in cases of a tie for any Board seat, a run-off election will be held at that time.

The President will appoint an Elections Committee to count the ballots.  When all ballots have been counted, the results of the election will be announced.
